If selected the young dogs enter our 12-16 week PTSD advanced training school in Canberra where they receive daily personalised coaching and training. This is where the Service Dogs in training are taught very specific skills to support Handlers struggling with PTSD. This training sets the dogs up to become qualified Service Dogs and be able to transform the life of a Veteran or First Responder in need.
During this time our dogs are cared for by short term Foster Carers who look after them in the evenings and weekends and give them love and time to relax after the intense daily training.
