Sponsor a dog. Change a life.

Every single day, we see lives being transformed by our highly trained Service Dogs. We see the moment when Veterans and First Responders are matched with their new forever, life changing partners. Together, they’re able to leave the house again and resume everyday life. They’re able to connect with friends and family. The nightmare cycle is stopped and a better quality of life is made possible.

As a Dog Sponsor, you can make all of this happen — and help us get one big step closer to our goal of funding a Service Dog for someone on our waiting list who has run out of other options.

Foster something special: about the program.

While our Service Dogs are in training in Canberra, and waiting to be paired with their forever owner, they need to be cared for in a loving environment. The Foster Carer program involves short term care of a fully house trained 12-24 month old dog. Foster caring time can vary from one week to several months, depending on the dog’s needs.

While our dogs are in fostering, they will be undertaking advanced training from Monday to Friday at our Phillip, Canberra facility. For your convenience, our team will pick up our dog in the morning and drop them back to you after work. However if you are able to assist with any transport we would be most grateful.

By taking part in this program, you and your family are active members of our community supporting our First Responders and Veterans living with PTSD, and their families.

Live in Canberra…want to make a difference?

What we ask of our fosters

Along with the support of our wonderful team, the tasks required to take part in the program are as follows:

  • Work collaboratively with LifeUnleashed dog trainers and instructors
  • Provide a secure household (an environment where food, chemicals, poisons medications can be out of reach and where the property is fenced/lockable)
  • Feed the dog (provided food by LifeUnleashed only) and manage a healthy dog weight
  • Implement crate training
  • Groom the dog regularly
  • Reinforce good dog manners, house and toilet training

Please note all equipment will be provided and vet bills, food and supplements are also covered by LifeUnleashed.

Every cent well spent.

100% of the money donated to Life Unleashed goes directly to sourcing and purchasing pups, training, placement and aftercare of our Service Dogs. Private donors cover our operating costs, which means every dollar can go where it’s needed most.

See the change you’re making.

Don’t just take our word for it. Our next-level commitment to transparency means we don’t just tell you you’re having an impact, we show you. We’ll share photos and stories of Service Dogs and their Client/Handlers you’ve helped fund.

You raise the funds, we’ll raise the pups.

Our Supporters have done some pretty amazing things to raise money for LifeUnleashed by Integra Service Dogs. And they’re thinking of new things to do every day. Need some inspiration? These are a few community let campaigns we’ll never forget.

Some amazing campaigns.

These fundraising campaigns were envisioned, organised, and driven by our community and extraordinary individuals who want to make a difference. Your passion inspires us, and we are deeply grateful for your support.

What is your fundraising idea?

Simon and Anton Smith
Kokoda Trek
$5,000

Simon Smith (leader of the pack at one of our corporate partners, Pet Culture), and his son Anton took on the Kokoda trek, a journey of endurance, resilience, and compassion. Simon and Anton chose to embark on this journey to raise money and awareness for Life Unleashed as they understand the impact a Service Dog can have on a Veteran in need.

Walk for Bell
In honour of Bella Canfield
$45,000

Words cannot fully express our gratitude to the Canfield family, who tragically lost their daughter and sister, Bella, in a car accident in 2022. In her memory, they hold the annual ‘Walk for Bell’ event. This year, they’ve raised an incredible $45K, which will help us in collaboration with Code9 Foundation provide assistance dogs through Integra Service Dogs Australia,  for first responders and their families dealing with PTSD and other mental health challenges.

Jessica Cameron - Ambassador

Guinness World record
Jess sumo lifts a world record of 4935kgs
$22,000

Instead of having a ‘naughty 40’ party or buying herself a sportscar for her birthday in Feburary, Jess says she decided to break a world record, but insisted she use the achievement to “actually do good”.

“I encountered Integra a few years ago through my work in Defence, and I love their dogs, particularly the Labs. I also have a connection with veterans – my husband’s ex-navy and we have friends who have served and still do,” Jess says.

Breaking the record for the heaviest sumo deadlift in 60 seconds (female), Jess lifted a massive 4935kg, beating the previous holders record by over 900kg.

More importantly, she raised over $22,000 for Integra Service Dogs Australia while doing it.

Brian and Ian Schumacher
4400km coast to coast bike ride
$35,000

After losing their sister, Merilyn, to suicide in 1997 after a long battle with mental illness, Brian and Ian are passionate about supporting mental health initiatives and getting behind causes such as Integra Service Dogs Australia.

Brian and Ian Schumacher embarked on a monumental 4400km coast-to-coast Australian bike ride from Fremantle to Sydney to raise funds and awareness for Integra Service Dogs Australia.

Brian has sons in the police force and army so he understands the pressures on first responders and defence force personnel.
